Tamil is one of the most ancient languages of the world. Having been given the status of classical  language tamil literature has been a guiding force to it’s people for several centuries. The  department of Tamil was established at the time of establishment of Dyal Singh Evening College. The  department of Tamil aims at enriching this great language through various departmental activities

1. To render advanced knowledge of tamil language and it’s literature to all the students 2. To enhance the research culture of Tamil language and it’s literature to all the learners

1. To provide skill based education and training to the students  

2. To inculcate Tamil heritage and culture through language and it’s literature among the young  minds of the learners
