Indian Knowledge Systems Committee
The Indian Knowledge Systems Committee aims to revitalize both the scriptural and informal traditional wisdom of ancient, medieval, and modern India. This initiative seeks to bring to the forefront the rich cultural traditions that were marginalized due to the legacy of colonial education, which has continued to influence post-independent India. These Indian knowledge traditions are not only highly evolved and well-researched but also beautifully codified, supporting a balanced, healthy, and enriched lifestyle. Recognizing the importance of these traditions, the new Education Policy advocates for the creative integration of Indian Knowledge Systems into higher education curricula. To achieve this, the committee plans to engage students through a variety of activities, including workshops, symposiums, and visits to galleries, museums, and theatres. Furthermore, the committee will invite researchers and experts from diverse fields to inspire students and deepen their understanding of their own cultural heritage.
