The Department of Political Science, DSEC comprises of 16 permanent faculty members and 3 guest faculties specializing in various fields, known for their research and teaching abilities. The department offers an undergraduate Honours course as well as courses at the Integrated B.A. Programme level. Additionally, a wide range of papers are offered to students from other disciplines across all years, including SEC, G.E., and VAC courses, benefiting more than 400 students in understanding political phenomena. The department is actively engaged in delivering quality teaching and conducting research in theoretical and applied fields of political science. Its objective is to encourage students' overall development and prepare them research and for careers government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
The Department of Political Science organizes academic and extracurricular activities through the Departmental committee Rajneeti Vigyan Parishad (RVP). RVP hosts events such as debates, quizzes, discussions, expert lectures, webinars, movie screenings, and youth parliaments to explore contemporary political issues in Indian and global politics. These activities aim to foster critical thinking among students and enable deep analysis of political phenomena.
