  • Orientation Programme (B. Com (H.) and B.com (P)

    Orientation programs are an essential part of welcoming new students to a college and helping them get acclimated to their new environment. Conducting an orientation program for both B. Com (Hons.) and B. Com (Prog.) courses on August 16th, 2023, at Dyal Singh Evening College in the library and Lab 02 starting from 11 :00 am is a wonderful way to introduce students to the college's facilities and the academic programs they will be embarking on.

    A substantial number of students, around 80-100, attended the program. Conducting the program in multiple batches to accommodate the large turnout is a practical approach to ensure that all students have the opportunity to benefit from the orientation.

    During the orientation program, students likely had the opportunity to meet their professors and classmates, learn about the college's policies and procedures, NEP structure and get an overview of the subjects they would be taking.     Guest Speaker: Ms. Jyoti Kapoor, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in leading media houses, took the stage. She strongly advocated for financial literacy and skillfully delved into essential topics such as budgeting, investment strategies, and various asset classes. Ms. Kapoor used her expertise to screen an informative short film, which served to further enrich the students' understanding of finance, investment, and prudent financial management.

    The choice of themes for specific months, such as "Ancient India" for September 2023 and "Financial Scams" for November 2023, suggests a diverse range of topics that cater to the interests and learning needs of the readers. Exploring ancient Indian commerce and business practices, as well as addressing contemporary issues like financial scams, can offer valuable insights and knowledge to the audience.

    The decision to publish COMSCOOP on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook is an excellent way to reach a broader audience and make the content more accessible to a digitally connected world.
